Luke 2:11 "Unto you is born this day....a
Saviour, which is Christ the Lord"
Everywhere I have gone this week, I see Christmas lights, Christmas Trees, Angels, Snowmen, Decorations,
and the rush of people shopping for that special gift. I looked for some Christmas cards with Jesus on them, and they
were nowhere to be found. I looked for decorations with the manger scene, and they too were not available. It
seems like everything but Christ is celebrated in CHRISTmas. We have left the meaning out of it in our nation.
I received an email from a ministry, and it told about a lady and her children. The kids had been arguing about what
they would get for Christmas. Their mother interrupted them and asked, "Whose birthday is it anyhow?" She
then informed them that would get four gifts.
1. One that they want
2. One that they need
3. One that they'll wear
4. One that they'll read.
I thought this was so good. We go in debt to buy gifts that in a few days or weeks won't even
be remembered. We have taken the true meaning out of Christmas. It is even argued about on national television,
that Jesus is not the reason for the season. We need to get back to the reason for the celebration. God loved
us so much that HE became the gift, and was born so we would have a Savior.
Let's put Jesus back into Christmas, lest we forget, and our future generations will not have any
idea of what Christmas is really all about.
