Are You Guilty, or are you Innocent?
You say you deserve to go to Heaven because you are a good person, haven't hurt anyone,
and for the most part, you live a clean life. But...let's see what God has to say about you:
What is the most important thing in your life? Is it anything other than God? Then you are GUILTY
of breaking the law. The first commandment says that you shall have NO other god's before HIM.
Do you put your sports, your job, and entertainment before God? Then you have broken the law and are GUILTY
as charged. The second commandment says that you should serve no one but God.
Have you ever used God's name in vain? You are GUILTYof breaking the law. The third commandment
says you shall not take the Lord's name in vain.
Have you ever stayed out of Church for reasons other than being sick? Then you are GUILTY of breaking
the law. The fourth commandment says you shall remember the Sabbath day, and keep it Holy. It also says six days
you should work but the 7th day is for God.
Have you ever talked back or disrespected your mother or father? You are GUILTY of breaking the law.
The fifth commandment says honor your father and your mother!
Have you ever wished someone was dead in your thoughts? You are GUILTY of breaking the law. The sixth
commandment says you shall not kill. Even thinking it is as good as doing it!
Have you ever had sex outside of marriage, or thought of it? You are GUILTY of breaking the law.
The seventh commandment says thou shalt not commit adultery.
Have you ever taken something that didin't belong to you, even a pencil or a paper clip? You are GUILTY
of breaking the law! The eighth commandment says thou shall not steal.
Have you ever told a lie? You are GUILTY of breaking the law. The ninth commandment says that you
should not bear false witness, or lie.
Have you ever desired something that didn't belong to you? You are GUILTY of breaking the law. The
tenth commandment says thou shalt not covet (desire) what doesn't belong to you,.
Let's face it, you are guilty as charged!!
So now what? Is there any way out for you, a person guilty of breaking the law, or do you have to be sentenced?
Yes, my friend, there is a way out.
Now that you know that you are GUILTY,
1. Realize and acknowedge that all have sinned (broken the law) and come
short of the Glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
2. Realize and acknowledge that the wages of sin (breaking the law) is death.
Romans 6:23
3. Realize and acknowledge that Christ died for our sins (breaking of the law).
(Romans 5:8)
4. Realize and acknowledge that the gift of God is eternal life (Romans 6:23)
5. Realize and acknowledge that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved (released from the penalty of sin) (Romans 10:13)
CONFESS AND ASK:
Lord Jesus, be merciful to me, a sinner, who has broken your law. I believe that you died, were buried,
and rose again from the dead to pay for my sins (breaking of the law) Save me now from the verdict of Hell. Thank
you for saving me today.
