In Hebrews 13:8 it says: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever."  What does this mean? It means that Jesus doesn’t change. The promises he gave are still valid, and the things that he said he would do are still being done.

Many believe that when the last apostle died that all of the gifts ended. They don’t believe in healing, and they don’t believe in the gifts listed in I Corinthians 12. Jesus has not changed my friends. He is still doing today what he did when he walked on earth and when the early church used his name as their authority. The apostles were not the ones that healed. All healing comes from God through Jesus Christ. Isaiah 53 says by his stripes we are healed. II Peter tells us that by his stripes we were healed. We now walk in the authority of his name.

In Acts ch 3:1-8 Peter and John were walking one day on the way to the temple to pray. A lame man sitting by the gate asked for alms. Peter fastened his eyes on him and said in vs. 4: “Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. ” Peter used the authority of the name of Jesus to bring healing to the lame man. In the next verse it says that the man “leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping, and praising God.”

Peter expected something to happen when he used the name of Jesus. He knew the power in that name. He knew that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do you know that power of his name? Do you believe it is for today? If not, you need to re-examine your faith, and build it up by reading the scriptures. The same things that happened in the book of Acts can happen today because Jesus is the same Jesus as he was then. He has given you authority through his name to use. The choice is ours. Use it or not. I choose to use it and see God work miracles like he did for the lame man! Add a description here.
